About *

Quandary Collective is a female-led collective of theatre makers, storytellers, filmmakers and writers. We work across forms, not confined by them. We nurture and reimagine stories - letting them grow, stretch and move freely, guided by what each story needs rather than what convention prescribes. Some of our work is playful, some political, some ancient, some urgent - but it’s always made for everyone. For you, your mates and yes, your neighbour Gary too.

We make space for honesty, vulnerability and audacity. We believe our similarities unite us and our differences enrich us. We are proud of our European heritage, creating work in the UK while reaching outward - touring nationally and internationally, connecting human to human.

The world doesn’t change in stagnancy, and stories do things. They travel across time carrying wisdom, rage, tenderness and hope. They remind us who we are, who we’ve been, and who we might still become.

Everything feels like it’s on a knife’s edge - and we believe storytellers have a responsibility not to look away. In moments like this, we can isolate, build walls and fear the big red button… or we can listen harder, reach further, and tell the stories that help us claw our way out of the mess together.

Quandary Collective is a place for bold care: for stories, for artists, and for audiences. A place where we work with integrity, co-creation, chutzpah and joy - where we admit when things are scary, laugh anyway and keep going.

Because the world is in a bit of a quandary right now - but together, through story, we might just find a way through.
